Machine Learning + Artificial Intelligence = Human Uselessness

[Auto-apprendimento delle machine + Intelligenza Artificiale = Inutilità Umana]

More and more scientific research is aimed at obtaining speed and advantages from two recent methods whose developments are increasingly powerful; it is the so-called Machine Learning and the already infamous AI (Artificial Intelligence). The even more worrying condition, however, is occurring since the two methods are increasingly mutually integrated and for the most diverse purposes. In this way computer systems receive not only an increasingly sophisticated "intelligence", but can use it to educate themselves, using in addition an unlimited access to the most disparate databases ... All this has been feared by science fiction already many times in the past ... but then it was just kinda wild imagination, while today we are seeing the predisposition of conditions to allow everything feared to materialize, in one form or another ...

It is also true, on the other hand, that without “courage”, science does not progress  ... Best wishes, folks! …

P.S. By the way, the next step is already under construction, they call it "Deep Learning", but don’t worry, it's always for the progress of science ... And if your ass starts hurting ... Oh well ... Fortunately science provides us with the pills for that too.

Sempre più aree di ricerca scientifica si rivolgono, per ottenere velocità e vantaggi prestazionali, a due recenti metodi i cui sviluppi sono  sempre più potenti; si tratta del cosiddetto Machine Learning (Auto-Apprendimento delle macchine) e della già famigerata AI (Intelligenza artificiale). La condizione ancora più preoccupante tuttavia, si sta verificando da quando i due metodi sono sempre più reciprocamente integrati e agli scopi più diversi. In questo modo i sistemi informatici ricevono non solo una sempre più sofisticata “intelligenza”, ma possono utilizzarla per auto educarsi, servendosi per giunta di un’illimitato accesso alle banche dati le più disparate … Tutto questo è stato paventato dalla fantascienza già molte volte in passato, ma allora si trattava di avventurose previsioni, mentre oggi stiamo vedendo la predisposizione delle condizioni atte a permettere che tutto quanto temuto possa materialmente avverarsi, in una forma, o in un’altra …

E’ anche vero, d’altra parte, che senza coraggio la scienza non progredisce … Tanti Cari Auguri! ...

P.S. A proposito è già in cantiere il passo successivo; lo chiamano “Deep Learning” (Apprendimento profondo), ma non state a preoccuparvi, è sempre per il progresso della scienza … E se comincerà a farvi male il sedere … o beh … per fortuna la scienza ci fornisce le pillole anche per quello.
